The Maserati Simun is a concept car built by Italian car manufacturer Maserati in 1968, which was introduced at the Turin Motorshow in the same year.
History
Giorgetto Giugiaro, while working at Ghia, was involved in the vehicle's design in the late 1960s. However, it never went into production since it was replaced by the Maserati Indy.
Nowadays, the model is preserved in Umberto Panini's Motor Museum.[2]
Specification
The car is presented as a 2+2 seat configuration coupe, with pop-up headlights. Under the long hood it is equipped with the same engine (Tipo 107 code) as the Maserati Mexico: a 4136cc 90° naturally aspirated V8, with two valves per cylinder, which releases a maximum of 256 HP at 5000 rpm and a torque of 240.45 ft lb (326 Nm), capable of reaching the top speed of 161 mph (260 km/h). It develops a specific output power of 62.8 HP/liter.
The rear transmission comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.[3][4][5]
