Mason Studio
Mason Studio is a team of two interior designers based in Toronto, Canada. Stanley Sun and Ashley Rumsey graduated from Ryerson University in 2008 and started the firm in 2011.[1]
They are part of 2017 Azure’s chosen 30 design studios and architecture firms that are creating some of the best interior spaces in Canada.[2] Mason Studio was also mentioned as one of the best designers' studios of 2016 by Toronto Life Magazine.[3]
Some of their most recognized works are “Cloud Sourcing”,[4] a design installation shown at the Toronto Design Offsite Festival of 2013 that consisted of cloud-like objects made from tissue paper creating a calming space,[5] and their exhibitions at the TIFF, such as Andy Warhol: Stars of The Silver Screen and digiPlaySpace. Their work for the Andaz Ottawa Byward Market hotel was mentioned in the Toronto Star[6][not in citation given] and the newspaper The Telegraph,[7][not in citation given] gave a qualification of 9 out of 10 to the interior design of the hotel's rooms. La Banane, a restaurant which interior design was made by Mason Studio and Sarah Keenleyside, was selected as one of the 10 Toronto's best designed restaurants by Vv Magazine.[8][not in citation given]
They have also designed condos in China, hotels in Ottawa, and installations in the Maldives,[9][better source needed] among others.
