Mass State Lottery is a 2025 American crime–horror comedy film written and directed by Jay Karales (LowRes Wünderbred) and produced by Forgotten Genres. It stars Karales, Hans Lam Barboza, Nicholas Goroff, Yuna Kim, Sheila Ball, Austin Wright, and Buddy Duress in his final role.[1][2]
Plot
Private investigator Richard Rathke (Karales) manipulates a grieving mother into hiring him, uncovering disappearances and murders tied to local folklore.[1][2]

Release
The film premiered March 5, 2025, in New York City, screened March 30, 2025, at the Seoul Extreme Film Festival, and opened in Italy on April 18, 2025.[3]
Passing of Buddy Duress
Buddy Duress, who played Ivan Amari, died in November 2023 at age 38. His death was confirmed in February 2024 by his brother, Christopher Stathis. Mass State Lottery was his final film.[4]
