Masterslave Music was formed during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns in the Philippines as a studio-based project combining synth and sequencer arrangements with electric guitar.

In June 2020, their debut single, "Isolate", was included on the compilation album MAÑANITA ~ A Noise Barrage from 18 Bedrooms (co-released by Green Papaya Art Projects and Pawn Records).[1] During this period, the duo also released the track "Lingering Greed".

Though primarily a studio project, the duo began performing live sets in 2022, collaborating with visual artists and gallery spaces:

  • June 4, 2022: Live debut at the 4th Synthramuros Community Meet-Up at Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila.
  • December 10, 2022: Soft opening performance for Uwak Gallery.
