Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) is a trade association of material handling distributors.

History

In the early 1950s, the material handling industry was booming due to increased manufacturing caused by World War II. In an effort to improve business, a group of material handling distributors met and discovered they faced similar challenges. These companies decided to collaborate and form an association to mutually benefit all members. In 1954, a meeting of eight distributors was held at the Morrison Hotel in Chicago, IL. That meeting marked the official founding of the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association.

The current president of MHEDA is Scott Hennie of Elite Storage Solutions.

The official MHEDA journal is a quarterly magazine called the MHEDA Journal. It covers topics related to the material handling industry, including industrial trucks, engineered systems and conveyors, storage and handling equipment, warehousing, storage racks, logistics, and other related sectors. The magazine also features articles on human resources, succession planning, tax and legal issues, and other best business practices. The journal is published by Naylor, LLC.
