Mathias Jakobsen, (born 1985) also known as Mathias Vestergaard Jakobsen or Mathias Vestergaard, is a Danish internet entrepreneur[1][2] and artist based in New York City.[3] He co-founded the daily Danish street fashion blog, GadeMode.[4][5] He also founded Fashion Week Live[6] and Think Clearly, a visual facilitation and consulting practice.[7]

Early life and education[edit]

When Jakobsen was 14, his mother died of breast cancer.[8] He founded MT Productions, a digital technology company, when he was 15.[9][10] Jakobsen attended Aarhus University and has a master's degree in information studies.[11]

Career[edit]

Jakobsen worked as a street fashion photographer[12] for GadeMode, a blog which he co-founded with Helle Rohde Andersen in 2007.[4][5][13] His art was featured in the Signs of Time exhibition in Aarhus.[14] In August 2011, Jakobsen created the cover photography for the album Sung in Broken Symmetry.[15][16]

In 2010, he was granted an EB-1 visa to the United States[14] and moved to New York with his wife in 2011.[7][17]

He founded Think Clearly, a visual facilitation and consulting practice in New York.[3][7] Through Think Clearly, Jakobsen publishes a handwritten newsletter.[18][19] He currently works as a Learning Designer for Hyper Island.[1][10]
