Matt Grodsky

Matt Grodsky (born November 29, 1993) is an American writer specializing in political communications. Grodsky previously served as the Director of Communications for the Arizona Democratic Party from 2019 to 2021 and helped flip the state blue for the first time in nearly a quarter-century.[1] In 2021, Grodsky also founded the 1865 Political Action Committee[2] a bipartisan PAC that is intended to elevate candidates of integrity on both sides of the aisle. He has managed marketing and communications for dozens of public and private sector clientele including ASU Continuing Legal Education[3], Albuquerque Police Department, CASA of Arizona[4], Dorn Policy Group[5], Maricopa County Attorney's Office[6], Maricopa County Department of Public Health[7], Maricopa County Treasurer's Office[8], Phoenix Community Alliance[9], Phoenix Police Department.

Born in Phoenix, AZ where he attended Shadow Mountain High School, graduated in 2012. Grodsky attended Columbia College Chicago and graduated cum laude in December 2015 (ceremony in 2016).

Matt Grodsky is currently the Vice President at Matters of State Strategies, the political division of Anderson Advertising, where he oversees the political strategy for the agency’s clients. A budding division in 2020, Grodsky grew Matters of State rapidly upon taking over in March 2021 by hiring a team with a combined 90+ years of political experience. Matters of State notably represents Adrian Fontes for AZ Secretary of State[10], Aaron Lieberman for AZ Governor[11], and Ginger Sykes Torres for Congress AZ01[12]. Grodsky is an elected Precinct Committeeman in Arizona's Legislative District 28 and is an Arizona Democratic Party State Committee Member.[13] He is the winner of over 35 awards for creative work, a frequent media contributor, and a subject of human interest stories in major media outlets. Additionally, he is the published author of Righteous Might: How Democrats Turned Arizona Blue and How You Can Flip Your Battleground State.[14]

Matt and his wife Laura gained international media attention when their love story went viral in 2017. Their story garnered ongoing coverage from hundreds of media outlets including The Today Show[15], Inside Edition[16], The Huffington Post[17], People Magazine[18], Tamron Hall[19], Steve Harvey, USA Today[20], and many more. Background on the preschool couple: Laura was adopted from New Delhi, India in 1993. Her parents enrolled her in a preschool in downtown Phoenix where she met Matt. They became best friends and Matt proposed when they were kids. They lost touch for 8 years or so after first grade but reconnected in high school. They dated through high school, college, and were married in 2016. They welcomed their first child in 2021. Depending on the outlet, the articles and interviews have claimed millions of views and likes from people around the globe including celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher, Zooey Deschanel, George Takei, Tim McGraw, and Tyrese Gibson, who was so touched by the story he sent Matt and Laura on a second honeymoon through his travel agency.[21]
