{{reflist} Matthew Joseph "Matt" Hargreaves (born August 15, 1989) is the voice actor for Matt, the illustrator and writer for the new Eddsworld Comics and the showrunner for Eddsworld Beyond. He was close friends with Edd Gould since primary school and has been involved with Edd's various creations since his playground comics. Matt is currently married.
Matt is a main protagonist of Eddsworld and the animated counterpart of Matt Hargreaves.
Matt first appeared in an animation titled "Edd", but was not given a voice until "Zombeh Attack".
Matt uses the Eddsworld Youtube Channel, and has stopped using his Matt Lobster Channel Since 2015.
Matt Hargreaves and Edd Gould first met at a sports day event at school. According to Edd, Matt suddenly started talking to him and his friend David while they watched the sporting events. Edd initially kept his distance from Matt, thinking he was "a bit of a prick", but Matt soon engaged the two in tic-tac-toe games on paper (mostly with David). A few days later, Edd was told that someone was moving to their class (with the implication it was a familiar face). Edd hoped it wasn't who he thought it would be- and in Matt walked. Despite this, Matt started to grow on Edd and Matt would eventually have an animated counterpart.
Matt initially didn't want any drawn counterparts of himself to be in Edd's earlier stick animations because according to Matt, Edd kept killing him off. Matt would go on to provide voices, with the earliest-known animation being Punch'd. He even wrote and drew in-between frames for Edd's animations such as Zanta Claws III.
Tom gave control over Eddsworld to Matt and Edd's family after part two of The End was finished. Matt stated he would be up for voice acting and said he was not done with Eddsworld, "not by a long shot". Matt tweeted "Today a chapter of @Eddsworld will end and new one will begin, we're not sure where the future will take us but I hope you'll join us".
