Matt Secor (born September 26, 1986) is an American mixed martial artist who once competed for the Bellator MMA in the Welterweight Division. He was a fighter on the 16th season of the The Ultimate Fighter.
Mixed martial arts career[edit]
Bellator Fighting Championships[edit]
On April 6, 2012, Secor made his Bellator debut losing to Nordine Taleb at Bellator 64 via unanimous decision.[1]
The Ultimate Fighter[edit]
On September 14, 2012, it was revealed that Secor was a member of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Carwin vs. Team Nelson. On the first episode of the season Secor defeated Max Griffin via triangle choke submission in the third round to earn a spot in the house, later he was chosen as the 8th pick for Shane Carwin's team. Secor was eliminated after losing to Michael Hill via unanimous decision, the fight was very controversial with UFC president Dana White voicing his displeasure with the outcome of the judges decision.[2]
World Series of Fighting[edit]
On September 13, 2014, Secor made his World Series of Fighting debut defeating Brett Shoenfelt at WSOF 13 winning the fight via rear naked choke submission in the second round.[3]

Return to Bellator[edit]
Matt Secor was scheduled to make his return to Bellator MMA on July 17, 2015 at Bellator 140 taking on UFC vet Josh Neer.[4] The fight was canceled after Neer pulled himself from the fight without any explanation given to Bellator or Secor which caused an uproar from Secor.[5]
