Matthew Van Komen (b. July 20, 2002) is a basketball player who plays for the Pleasant Grove, Utah high school as a center. Komen came to notability in a game against Bol Bol, another high school player.[1] Komen went through a growth spurt and cleared 6ft at age 11 and 7 ft at age 13 and is noted in 2017 as being the tallest basketball player in the United States. Skill-wise, Komen is noted for scoring 70% of his throws[2] and has gotten offers from Baylor University, Gonzaga University and Utah State University.[3][4]
