Matteo Di Benedetto (born 31 October 1992, Udine) is an Italian politician and member of the Lega party. He serves as a member of the Bologna City Council, where he is the leader of the Lega group and President of the Budget Commission. He is also the Deputy Provincial Secretary of Lega in Bologna.[1][2][3]

Early life and education

Born in Udine in 1992, Di Benedetto graduated with honors in Law. He later completed postgraduate studies in bioethics and neurobioethics, as well as a master’s program in political and institutional studies. Before entering elected office, he was active in civic associations focused on the protection of life, family policies, and social issues.

Political career

Di Benedetto joined Lega and became one of the party’s leading representatives in Bologna. He was elected to the Bologna City Council, where he serves as the leader of the Lega group and chairs the Budget Commission.

His political work has focused on public safety, municipal finances, urban development, mobility, and policies supporting families. He has also advocated for stricter measures against urban decay and for greater efficiency in public spending.

In 2024, he was a Lega candidate in the Emilia-Romagna regional elections for the Bologna constituency.
