Matthew Barry

Matthew Barry is an actor, casting director, producer and teacher. Born in New York in 1962 to playwright P.J. Barry and psychologist Dolores DuBois, Matthew first appeared off Broadway at aged 8 at the Roundabout Theatre's "A Piece of Fog." At age 13, he once again appeared in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" opposite Academy Award winner Beatrice Straight and Hugh Marlowe. That same year he was cast as a series regular on the short-lived CBS television series "Ivan the Terrible."

Matthew's big break came at age 16 when he was cast opposite Jill Clayburgh in Bernardo Bertolucci's "La Luna" which opened the New York Film Festival in November of 1979.

Matthew appeared in several films including opposite Kevin Costner in "No Way Out" and Charlie Sheen in "The Wraith"

After appearing in a number of television shows including "Family Ties" and "Cagney & Lacey" Matthew was hired by Victoria Thomas to be her casting assistant on "Indecent Proposal." This led to a career in casting including "Crimson Tide" "Ed Wood" and "Devil in a Blue Dress" until becoming a fully credited casting director on "Mars Attacks" "Con Air" "Rush Hour" "John Q" "Family Man" "Rush Hour 2" "Friday After Next" "Freddy vs Jason" "The Notebook" "My Sister's Keeper" and "The Other Woman."

Matthew Co-Produced "Alpha Dog" breaking the careers of Emile Hirsch, Justin Timberlake, Ben Foster, Anton Yelchin, Olivia Wilde and Amanda Seyfried.

In 2011, Matthew opened "Matthew Barry Teaches" in Sherman Oaks, CA

He currently resides in West Hills, CA
