Matthew D. Adams

Matthew D. Adams is an associate professor in the Department of Geography, Geomatics and Environment at the University of Toronto, Mississauga.[1][2][3][4][5][6] He is also the Director of the Centre for Urban Environments at the University of Toronto, Mississauga.[7][8]

Education[edit]

Adams obtained his HBESc and MES degrees from Lakehead University in 2009 & 2011 respectively.[3][6] He obtained his PhD in Environmental Science from McMaster University in 2015.[3][6][9]

Research[edit]

Adam's research looks at human exposure to environmental pollutants, with a focus on exposure to air pollution in the urban environment.[1][3][10] He has over 50 publications.[9] Most cited publications include; "Mapping real-time air pollution health risk for environmental management: Combining mobile and stationary air pollution monitoring with neural network models", "Air pollution in Ontario, Canada during the COVID-19 State of Emergency"," Global Association of air Pollution and Cardiorespiratory Diseases: a systematic review, meta-analysis, and investigation of modifier variables".[2] He is currently a reviewer for many international journals.[9][11]

Adams is the founding Executive Director of Geographers Without Borders, a Canadian not-for-profit .[11] He is also the vice chair of the Hamilton Burlington Trails foundation.[11]
