Matthew Robert McCloskey is a Choral Director at Downingtown High School's West Campus. He has been teaching in the Downingtown Area School District for 40 years. He has taught middle school (grades 6-8), as well as high school (grades 9-12).

CLASSES

Matt teaches Concert Choir I, Concert Choir II, Bel Canto, Masterworks, Vocal Ensemble, Men's and Women's Choir, and is the Director of Music for the annual Stage West performances. He is also the advisor for the A Capella club, a club that enlists all high school students in choir classes.

PREVIOUS SCHOOLS

McCloskey has worked in the Downingtown Area School District for close to 41 years. He taught at the original Lionville Junior High School, the Ninth Grade Center, and finally Downingtown West beginning in 2003. [1]

Prior to teaching Music, Matthew was a Teacher for Students with Disabilities at Camden County School District in New Jersey, teaching at the Gloucester Township Campus.[2]

DEGREES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education (B.S.Mus) from West Chester University, as well as a master's degree in music (M.Mus.) from West Chester University.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS A CHORAL DIRECTOR

As the Choral Director, Matthew's responsibilities include casting and running the music for Stage West, as well as organize trips for the Vocal Ensemble classes. [1]
