Educated first in France (L'Universite de Poitiers en La Rochelle and La Sorbonne, Paris), she went on to earn a BA from SUNY at Stony Brook and an MBA in international marketing at Pace University. Stone was a commercial banker who operated a credit/credit risk consulting company for over ten years with some of the top financial institutions as her clients. During this time, she took a year off to work in the hospitality industry, the subject matter of her first book, a satire, Five-Star FLEECING. The author is also related to the humorist, Sam Levenson, who spent his summers at her family's bungalow in White Lake, New York. Sam's son, Conrad Levenson, sculptor, was her babysitter. She attributes her sense of humor came from the frequent family get togethers with Sam. Her first novel received literary praise from the late Harriet Klausner, the MidWest Book Review, and won the 2011 NEIA Award for Comedy. Her subsequent novels received awards and kudos from literary critics as well including the MidWest Book Review.
