Mohamed Ibrahim Ali Mohamed (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.; Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.; born 1 January 1985, Mogadishu), commonly known as Mohamed Cajiib (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is a Somali politician, diplomat and parliamentarian.

He is a member of the House of the People of Somalia, representing constituency HOP#064. The Federal Parliament of Somalia lists him as a member of the House of the People and as chairperson of the Committee on Rules of Procedure, Ethics, Discipline and Immunity.[1]

Mohamed Ibrahim Ali Mohamed is also a senior official of the Justice and Solidarity Party (JSP), where he serves as Secretary for Social Affairs, Labour and Employment (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.).

Early life

Mohamed Ibrahim Ali Mohamed was born on 1 January 1985 in Mogadishu, Somalia.[citation needed]

Civil society career

Before entering federal parliamentary politics, Mohamed Ibrahim Ali Mohamed was active in Somali civil society.

He was associated with the Center for Community Awareness (CCA), where he served as chairman.[2][3] In this capacity, he participated in public-awareness programmes, community activities, youth engagement and cultural events.[4]

Diplomatic career

Cajiib's public career has also included diplomatic and public-affairs activities.[citation needed]

Political career

Justice and Solidarity Party

Cajiib is a senior official of the Justice and Solidarity Party (JSP). Within JSP, he serves as Secretary for Social Affairs, Labour and Employment (Somali: Xoghayaha Arrimaha Bulshada, Shaqada iyo Shaqaalaha).[5]

2016 campaign and election

In 2016, Cajiib was reported among candidates seeking seats in Somalia's Lower House during the federal parliamentary selection process.[6]

Radio Dalsan reported that Cajiib travelled to Cadaado in connection with the parliamentary election process.[7]

Mohamed Ibrahim Ali Mohamed was elected to the House of the People of Somalia in January 2022, representing constituency HOP#064.[8][9] The election was held in Dhuusamareeb, Galmudug. Mohamed Cajiib received 98 votes, while his opponent Abdullahi Iman Arfah received two votes, according to reports on the election.[10]

Committee leadership

Cajiib has served as chairperson of the Committee on Rules of Procedure, Ethics, Discipline and Immunity since August 2024.[11][12] He is also listed as a member of the Standing Committee of the House of the People.[13] In August 2026, the committee discussed the harmonisation of the parliamentary rules of procedure with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia.[14] He was reaffirmed as chairperson in August 2026.[15]

Parliamentary activities

In April 2024, Mohamed Cajiib was among officials who arrived ahead of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Ceeldheer during a presidential visit to the district.[16] Radio Muqdisho also reported the arrival of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation in Ceeldheer, mentioning Mohamed Cajiib among those present.[17]

In December 2024, Shabelle Media reported on a meeting between the Speaker of the House of the People and the parliamentary committee chaired by Mohamed Cajiib.[18]

In January 2025, Mohamed Cajiib participated in meetings in Jowhar concerning local administration, stabilisation and reconciliation in Hirshabelle State.[19][20]

In February 2025, Cajiib attended a preparatory meeting for the opening of the sixth session of the House of the People.[21] In June 2025, Somali National Television reported that Mohamed Cajiib participated in a meeting involving the Speaker of the House of the People and political organisations.[22]

Controversy

In January 2026, Radio Risaala reported allegations made by a former government minister concerning Mohamed Cajiib and another individual in relation to a property dispute. The report presented the matter as an allegation and complaint rather than as an established criminal finding.[23]
