May 2018 derecho series
Template:Infobox derecho The May 2018 derecho series were a series of two derechos that occurred on the Mid-Atlantic region and the Northeast United States on May 14 and 15, 2018. It caused widespread damaging winds, severe hail, and tornadoes.
Meteorological history
May 14
On May 12, the Storm Prediction Center issued a Day 3 marginal risk across the Great Plains to the Mid-Atlantic region, with a five percent probability of severe weather for a potential of a vigorous shortwave trough, accompanied by a strong cold front from the Great Lakes.[1]
