Md. Mahbubur Rashid
Md. Mahbubur Rashid is a Major general in the Bangladesh Army and GOC of the 55th Infantry Division & Area Commander, Jashore Area. Prior to joining here, Rashid was Defence adviser at the Bangladesh High Commission in London.[1]
Early life & Education
Rashid completed his SSC and HSC respectively from Agrabad Government High School and Govt. Hazi Mohammad Mohsin College. He completed his graduation from Chittagong University and a Master in Defense Studies from National University and MPhil from Bangladesh University of Professionals.
Career
Rashid joined the Bangladesh Army as a commissioned officer on 21 June 1991 with the 24th BMA long course. He served as Deputy Military Secretary to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for 4 years. Then he joined the Bangladesh High Commission in the UK.[2] In October 2022, he was promoted to Major General and posted as GOC of the 55th Infantry Division. He worked under a blue helmet twice. The first time he was in Sierra Leone as a Platoon Commander in 2000/02 and as a Staff Officer at Ivory Coast during 2007/08.
