Me Vasantrao is a 2021 Indian Marathi-language biographical drama film directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari and co-written by Dharmadhikari and Upendra Sidhaye.[1] The film stars Rahul Deshpande as the titular Vasantrao Deshpande (Rahul's grandfather), a singer and actor, in addition to Anita Date-Kelkar, Amey Wagh and Pushkaraj Chirputkar. Premise[edit]

The film shows how Vasantrao, who was born in Vidarbha, Maharashtra and raised in Nagpur by his mother single-handedly, became the Hindustani Classical maverick Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande. The biopic is full of exciting events which shaped his life and his music. Such as: his special friendship with P.L. Deshpande and Begum Akhtar, life in Indian Military Accounts, learning music in Lahore to his posting to the Indo-China border during the 1962 war, and finally performing in the play ‘Katyaar Kaljaat Ghusli’.[1]
