Meadowvale Road is a suburban arterial road in Toronto, Ontario. Meadowvale Road is the Highway 401 exit for the Toronto Zoo.[1]

Route description[edit]

Meadowvale begins at Lawrence Avenue East running north as a residential street for 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) to a dead end south of Highway 2A. The road then continues north from a dead end north of Highway 2A as a residential street up to Ellesmere Road, at which point it becomes an arterial road. Excluding the interchange with Highway 401, the road's surroundings are primarily residential between Ellsmere Road and Sheppard Avenue.

North of Sheppard Avenue, the road passes by the Toronto Zoo, at which point the road's surroundings change from urban to rural. North of Old Finch Avenue, the now rural road continues north before turning east as Plug Hat Road.

A former section of the concession road south of Steeles Avenue was renamed Gordon Murison Lane (named for a descendant of settler/farmer William Murison), but not as a continuation of Meadowvale Road.
