Meegwun Fairbrother

Meegwun Fairbrother was born in Toronto, Ontario Canada. From ages two to thirteen he lived in many First Nations communities across Northern Ontario. Meegwun grew up hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities while also taking part in many Ojibway cultural practices suck as dancing, singing, and art. He also often reenacted recently seen movies for his friends in the woods.

He completed high school in Kenora, Ontario before being accepted into the acting conservatory at York University in 2005. There he studied the acting craft. Since graduating he has worked on stage, film, and television all over North America. His first break was on APTN's "Mohawk Girls" as Butterhead and then as Daniel Aerov in Syfy's virus show “Helix." He has since appeared in many movies and TV shows.

Meegwun continues to work on his craft in writing, theatre, film, and television while also teaching arts based workshops to kids in Northern BC and Ontario Canada. He is also an Okichitaw Indigenous Martial Artist, Personal Trainer, and Yoga teacher.[1]

He made his directorial debut in two full length documentaries about the BC Salmon numbers and Okichitaw Martial Arts.

Meegwun is currently acting in CBC's "Burden of Truth” as Officer Owen Beckbie.[2]
