Mega Man Unlimited is a 2013 platform video game created by game designer Philippe "MegaPhilX" Poulin; it is a fan game based on the Mega Man series by Capcom. The game follows Mega Man as he attempts to stop eight Robot Masters that have gone berserk, as players guide him through the various levels.
Plot[edit]
Mega Man Unlimited takes place in the 21st century ("20XX"); a few months after the Dr. Wily's last attack, eight Robot Masters suddenly begin revolting, claiming to be working for Dr. Wily.[2] However, Dr. Wily denies these claims, before he is suddenly kidnapped; as a result, Mega Man goes out to both stop the Robot Masters and rescue Dr. Wily.[3]
Gameplay[edit]
Mega Man Unlimited is an action-platformer, using the same gameplay as the original Mega Man games. Players control Mega Man as they progress through the levels, often filled with traps and enemies to avoid or shoot. Defeating a Robot Master will allow Mega Man to use their weapon for the rest of the game, and each Robot Master has a weakness to a certain weapon.[4]
Development and release[edit]
Mega Man Unlimited was created by Philippe Poulin (known on the internet as "MegaPhilX"), a game designer residing in Canada. The game was initially conceptualized as a sequel to Mega Man 9 (2008), using the title Mega Man 10. Following the announcement of an official Mega Man 10, Poulin would change the title to Unlimited.[1]
The game released on July 14. 2013, as a free download for Microsoft Windows.[1]
