Mega Miss North East

INTRODUCTION
Mega Miss North East & Mega Mr. North East is a regional beauty pageant in North East India that selects contestants to compete for personality and well-toned fitness, representing a cause^[1] every year.^[2]

HISTORY
Mega Entertainment is the producer of the two regional beauty/fashion events, Mega Mister North East™ since 2009 & Mega Miss North East™ since 2003. It has now grown in stature and repute with every passing year, now being labeled as the most coveted and the most sought-after pageants in the whole region that showcases the best of young talents.^[3] With over 10+ years of hosting the show, this fashion event has now become the most awaited beauty pageant in North East India. The show had 14 editions for Mega Miss North East and 7 editions for Mega Mister Northeast, inspiring thousands of people across the region. The pageant is inspired by designer/fashion choreographer Abhijit Singha, who is the owner/proprietor of Mega Miss North East™ & Mega Mister North East™.^[4] ^[5]

PREVIOUS EDITIONS
14th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2016 winners:
Meriya Priyadarshani Subba from Namchi, Sikkim was the winner. Licha Thosum from Arunachal Pradesh was the 1st runner-up, and Soibam Kancham Chanu from Imphal, Manipur was the 2nd runner-up.
7th Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mr. North East 2016 winners:
Mr. Animesh Pandit, from Shillong bagged the 1st position. Sushanta Rajkumar from Imphal was the 1st runner-up, and Colin Jacob Ranjan from Guwahati was the 2nd runner-up.
Jessica Marbaniang, from Meghalaya was the 13th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2015 winner, and Babul Boro from Assam was the winner of the 6th Fair & Lovely Men Mega Mr. North East 2015.

In 2014, the winner of Mega Miss North East was Natasha Wahlang from Meghalaya, and Mr. Siddharth Boro from Assam was the winner of Mega Mister North East 2014. ^[6] There are many considerable mentions of the contestants^[7]^[8] over the years who were part of this beauty pageant and are now moving towards success, whether in television, reality shows, or other fashion events.^[9]
