Mellowtone Records is an independent record label in Liverpool, United Kingdom, specialising in folk, blues and songwriters.[1][1][2] The label originated out of Mellowtone Nights, a series featuring live music events & DJs across a variety of city venues.[2]

History[edit]

The label was founded in 2014 by David McTague, the same year that the label also celebrated the ten year anniversary of Mellowtone Nights [3] by releasing a special compilation album.[4][3][5][5]

2019 saw the record label celebrate the fifteen year anniversary of the concert series by by hosting an exhibition titled 'Mellowtone 15' at Buyer's Club, in Liverpool.[6][6] The exhibition featured a range of illustrators and visual artists.[7]

Notable artists signed to the label include Nick Ellis,[8] Edgar 'Jones' Jones and[8][9] Seafoam Green.[10]
