Memphis Monroe (born March 23, 1985, in New Orleans, Louisiana) is the stage name of an American pornographic actress. Monroe got her stage name from Nicolas Cage's character (Randall "Memphis" Raines) in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds and from her love of Marilyn Monroe.[5] She was raised in Louisville, Kentucky.[6]
She worked at Hooters restaurants in Louisville and Indiana and has previously posed for their national calendar.[7] Upon turning 18, she began doing nude modelling, and in April 2005, she began performing in adult films.[7] Monroe was fired from Hooters after the company discovered that she had modeled for a pantyhose-addict website two years earlier, while she was working at Hooters as a hostess. She had done a strip photo set for that website, starting out in a Hooter's uniform, which is not allowed.[5]
In May 2005, she posed for a Hustler magazine layout, and, two months later, she learned that she would be the cover model for the December issue of the magazine. In November 2005, she was signed to an exclusive contract by Hustler, becoming their second contract girl, after Jessica Jaymes.[7] In December 2006, her contract with them was renewed,[8] but, by August 2007, she had left them.[9] She has posed for Penthouse magazine.[10][11][12]
Monroe has also performed as a feature dancer at locations across the U.S. in the past.[13] On June 4, 2008, she appeared on the Howard Stern Sirius satellite radio show.[4]
