Men's fashion has experienced several changes throughout the centuries. Particularly men are less interested in looking after their style statements and what they wear, but in these coming years, men's fashion trends have taken hype as the men of the country have started to follow popular celebrities, fashion designers, and influencers who promote the latest fashion styles almost every day. Popular fashion enthusiasts upload many areas of fashion men need to focus on. Because fashion doesn’t mean wearing the right choice of clothing, but also the way you carry yourself in front of people through your personality. Men’s fashion has observed lots of changes throughout all this time. Below are the details about the history of Men’s fashion in India. History of Men’s Fashion (1795-1820)

1) European: The Europeans somewhere influenced the informal style patterns that include, brocades, lace, periwigs in the 18th century. French Revolution: People mostly avoided becoming part of the French aristocracy as they believed the clothing styles as a form of their expression of their true self than as a pure indication of social status. In the 18th Century, women’s day-to-day outfits involved a skirt-jacket style which was considered a practical outfit keeping in mind the continuous chores they had to perform. Women carried high laced corsets earlier, but this fashion statement was abandoned with the introduction of high waisted patterns which embraced the natural figure of the person. People favored this kind of clothing as it did not depict any false expressions.

2) Britain: In the era of "Regency" which is the period when there was a set of organized trends in fashion, architecture, culture, and politics. After Queen Victoria rose to the authority, one of the “men” who was still famous for his insights in initiating the terms of clothing form – ‘trousers’. His name was Bean Brummel. Bean Brummel escalated the world of men's fashion regarding the terms called perfect tailoring, untouched fashion trends, and immaculate linen as the ideals of men's fashion.

3) Germany: German fashion is famous across the globe. It is a name taken with France, Italy, and other such fashion-forward countries. The fashion in Germany is known for its edginess, functionality, style, and precision. 1990’s – In the 1990s a, fashion statement known as Goth was introduced in the men's and women's fashion industry. - Clothing was created, making a fusion of alternative rock, punk rock, and heavy metal. - Leather Jackets, Pants, snapbacks, and ripped, baggy jeans were being considered trendy. - The youth hopped on to these trends including the celebrities. - The demand for washed-out, worn-looking clothing also meant that muted color palettes, mellow looks on men were very popular. During this time, the people of the generation carried the dark-fashion looks into the streets.

2000's – The fashion statements of this year were influenced by the popular celebrities and pop stars of those times.  Boy bands like the Backstreet Boys, Nsync showcased cooler designs which influenced the common public and a new trend was emerged gathering the styles and fashion statements of the band’s looks in their shows.  Men’s style during this time was almost a fusion of looks from over the previous 40 or so years, maybe longer.  With boot cut jeans, printed t-shirts, and loud, garish prints and fabrics being the iconic fashion staples of the decade.

The global menswear market in 2018 was USD 483 billion expected to grow at a CAGR o 6.3%. The growth of the market can be figured out with the increasing fashion consciousness among millennial men of India. The exposure through social media and the internet has made high-end fashion brands available across the globe with a click of a button. India and China are two world markets that have been noticing an increase in menswear purchases. Along with brands targeting men's wear including Ralph Lauren, Burberry, and Armani, recognized designers also view men's wear as a market with immense growth potential. In this era, even men are somewhere inclined toward making themselves look better. They visit salons, regular shopping, and stay updated with the latest fashion trends and styles brought by the designers based in India. Tom Fords, Michael Kors, and Sean Combs are the few brands that focus on the men’s wear segments. Fashion consciousness among men is increasingly going through to the omnichannel route for marketing fashion brands.

The Unisex Fashion Influence:

The unisex trend of clothing and pattern lasted for not more than a year in the American fashion industry. It mostly stuck around the late 1960s. The unisex trend began on the runways initiated by designers like Pierre Cardin, Paco Rabanne, etc. The departmental stores in the U.S also started to dedicate a special section to the ones wanting unisex fashion.

Some of the rising fashion trends in men’s fashion: - Cross-Body Bags: Men are not likely to carry a bag or a hand bag while they go out, they’re expected to carry a personal wallet. But the future fashion trend brings these fashion trends of Cross-Body bags for guys. They look cool and have enough space to carry the essential belongings. - Monochromatic Suits: Men are always seen in an all-black suit in events and occasions. A single-shaded suit from top to bottom looks classy and fine for any cultural or formal event. - Vests: Vests are going to be a constant fashion trend like any other regulars in the men’s fashion category. Vests can be carried with or without a shirt; plumpy and vibrant colors look catchy if worn in vests. They come in primitive check prints, warm covering that also come under the winter fashion trends. They can be worn outside plain tee-shirts with common colors like black or white. The men’s fashion is a growing market with a lot of scope of experimentation.
