Mher Khachatryan (born 3rd November 1983) is an Armenian painter based in New York.[4][5][6] His art also has been shown in area galleries across the world and private collections in Armenia, Russia, and the U.S.[7][2] Mher's work also can be found in Armenian national gallery, the work "My Angel" is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.[8][9][10]

He started and runs a charity.[3] Mher is also the founder of the Cre8 Art School and also a member of the Artist’s Union of Armenia.[11] In 2018, Maher received the Two-Dimensional Public Vote Award by Edward Jones for his artwork "Jesus" at Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, Cliffside Park, New Jersey.[12][13]

Early life and background[edit]

Mher was born on November 3rd, 1983 in Armenia. His early interest was in drawing. He studied in an art college and spent his three years in Academy of Fine Arts in Armenia, completing his formal art training. Mher received his BFA in drawing and painting at the Art college of Panos Terlemezyan, and MFA at the Academy Of Fine Arts in Yerevan, Armenia.[4][6][14]

Career[edit]

He started to show his artwork in area galleries including Ico Gallery in Chelsea, New York, NY, Hanna Gallery in NJ, Narekatsy gallery in Armenia, Webster Hall in New York, Vulcan’s Forge MO.[7] Mher is the founder of the Art To Thank, an NGO which donates painted portraits to the Veterans, wounded warriors and the families of deceased soldiers.[3]
