Early life[edit]
Fletchall was born in San Angelo, Texas,[1] the son of Howard Brandow, a chief mechanic for Continental Airlines, and Katherine Marcalee Woods, a painter and small business owner. He has one older brother, Bryan. Before Fletchall turned one, his mother divorced and married Joseph Fletchall, a corporate pilot.
Throughout his early teens, Fletchall made amateur movies with his family's VHS camcorder[1] using his friends as actors. Much of his later teen years were spent moving between Colorado Springs, Colorado and suburbs of Houston, Texas. In Texas he attended Clear Creek High School where he focused on theater acting. He moved back to Colorado with his mother to begin his junior year at Mitchell High School after his parents divorced. He worked part-time at a movie theater while interning at the U.S. Olympic Training Center and for his school district's audio-video department making educational videos, a few of which he won awards. During his senior year Fletchall got a part-time job as a weekend news camera operator for KKTV, a local CBS affiliate. A few months later he was hired on full-time as an on-air switcher and segment director.
Professional life[edit]
After graduating from Mitchell High School in 1995, Fletchall moved to Seattle, Washington to work at Northwest Cable News, a regional news network that produces news coverage and programming for Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and parts of Canada.
Fletchall then moved to Los Angeles to work in filmmaking.[1] He formed MiRydea Entertainment, Inc., building editing and sound facilities for production companies and studios including MGM. He also began operating telescopic camera cranes through Panavision, which he continued for the next decade. In 2006 he founded Mediusphere Company, a communications and technology organization. During 2007, he developed a television show and produced projects for American Eagle Outfitters with Russ Cundiff and Milo Ventimiglia at Divide Pictures.
In October 2008, Fletchall was invited to attend the Middle East International Film Festival[1] in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. At the festival he was approached to launch and head a new movie and television studio in the emerging UAE media industry. Two months later Fletchall moved his family to the United Arab Emirates,[2] and in January 2009 Experience Media Studios launched in the newly formed Abu Dhabi media zone.[3]
Personal life[edit]
Fletchall married Catherine Giaimo on March 11, 2000 on the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. They have two children. Fletchall is a private pilot and an avid player of the poker game Texas Holdem.
