Michael Barton (born 19 April 1992) is a British author and physics student at the University of Surrey. Barton, who is a high-functioning autistic, is known for writing two books that deal with the topic of autism. His first book, It’s Raining Cats and Dogs, dealt with language as it is processed by autistic individuals and his second book, A Different Kettle of Fish, covers a day in Barton's life. He was featured in the BBC4 documentary Growing Children – Autism and has been interviewed by New Scientist (2012) and BBC Radio 3.[1][2][3] Barton also performs with his family band, The Sticklebacks.
