Michael Cammarano
Michael J. Cammarano is a politician running as both a Republican Party (United States) and Democratic Party (United States) (cross-filed) candidate for the judicial seat to be vacated by Jill Gehman Koestel[citation needed] in the 23rd Judicial District of Pennsylvania (Berks County, Pennsylvania) in the 2017 primary elections (Tuesday, May 16, 2017).[1]
“I believe the experience I will bring to the bench, both legal and life experience, will benefit all those who must appear in court,” said Mike Cammarano regarding his campaign. “This is my hometown, where I grew up, and it will be a major honor and privilege to serve my people,” he added. Mike has been married to his wife Debbie for 41 years. The couple has two children and three grandchildren. All his family is settled in Reading, and Mike is currently practicing law with his son.
The Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania resident formally announced his campaign for Berks County, Pennsylvania Common Pleas Court Judge on the evening of March 3, 2017, at the Berkshire Heights Fire Company in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, before about 100 people.[1]
Recently, Cammarano's campaign has focused on international support for combating bullying in schools and throughout the nation using online platforms and social media. [2] He is the only candidate in the state taking a stand and helping raise awareness on this issue. Mike Cammarano has announced that he is running for Judge in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Cammarano recently hired renowned cyberstalking and bullying activist, Kris Degioia, for his campaign's marketing. Cammarano was born and raised in Reading and is the oldest of eight children. He has four decades of experience in the practice of law and understands the city's problems better than anyone else. Besides Berks County, he has practiced law in several other Pennsylvania counties as well as in federal courts.
Cammarano has been practicing law in Berks County, Pennsylvania since October 15, 1979 (over 37 years).[3][1]
He is a former solicitor for both Berks County Sheriffs Kramer and Jozwiak, and a founding member of the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Solicitors Association.[3][1]
He is a former general counsel to Teamsters Local 429, advising local officials on day-to-day matters and representing union employees during multiple strike situations.[3][1]
