Michael Jermaine Stattelman (born May 27, 1975) is an American strategy and technology consultant, author, inventor, United States Army Veteran, software engineer, Chief Technology Officer, technology evangelist and college professor.
Early life and education
He was born Michael Jermaine Stattelman in 1975 in Athens, Georgia, to Barbara and Andersen (Andersen was a limited figure throughout Michael's childhood). His mother, Barbara A. Stattelman, was born in Aimes, Iowa. His maternal ancestors were from Germany and immigrated to Minnesota, Kansas and Iowa.
As a child, Stattelman grew up in the projects of Athens known as Parkview. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School until the sixth grade, then Clarke and Hillsman middle schools. His high school career started at Cedar Shoals and continued at Clarke Central High School where he graduated in 1994. Stattelman often displayed scientific interests and technological proficiency; at the age of 10 he installed a closet light he made from a disassembled R/C car so that he could read and draw at night without disturbing his siblings while they slept. At the age of 12 he designed a fairing on the tip of the propeller of his R/C airplane that increased the efficiency of the aircraft. His intellectual curiosity is no doubt attributed to his grandfather Arthur J. Stattelman, who was the dominant male role model throughout his youth.
Post his honorable discharge from the Army in 1996, he enrolled in ECPI University of Richmond, Virginia. While at ECPI, Stattelman attained two associate's degrees and a bachelor's degree in computer science and information systems. From there, Stattelman went on to attend Strayer University where he received his master's degree.
Career
After graduating from Clarke Central High School, Stattelman enlisted in the United States Army where he served in Delta 3/505 P.I.R of the 82nd Airborne Division from 1994 to 1999. During a portion of his service, Stattelman transitioned from airborne infantry to military police officer. Stattelman spent a few years post his honorable discharge working at odd jobs as a commercial plumber, fast food chain manager, and managed to write his first book "How anyone can attain unimaginable wealth in 24hrs guaranteed",[1] before deciding to enter the information technology field in 2002. While in school, Stattelman developed a method to increase the capacity of optical discs by increasing their surface area and filed for a patent on Extended capacity compact disc.[2] After Stattelman acquired his bachelor's degree, he wrote his 2nd and 3rd books "Intimate Prose" and "So he thought".[3] Upon completion of his Master's degree, Stattelman spent some time as a well-received[4] Computer Science instructor back at ECPI University. All of this while working in the technology domains of printing/publishing, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, banking/finance, and government contracting industries. That experience and cross-industry knowledge led him to write the book "Meta-Leadership". A serial entrepreneur, Stattelman has started numerous business ventures ranging in specialties from sports apparel sales to terrorism threat analytics.
Personal life
Stattelman was married to his wife Bobbi in October 2017 at the Jekyll Island Club. He has eight siblings – four brothers and four sisters – and eight children.
