Michael Miley or otherwise known as "Miley", is the drummer of the rock and roll band Rival Sons. He is from Long Beach, California.

Musical career[edit]

After college, Miley moved to Hollywood to pursue music full-time. Around this time is when he first met Jay Buchanan. He then began a 5-year stint playing with Joe Firstman with whom he toured extensively until Joe became musical director for Last Call with Carson Daly on NBC. Miley continued on the Carson Daly show for a few years whilst also touring with Veruca Salt.

When Miley met Scott Holiday in 2005, they decided to jam and form a band. Shortly after, Miley played a Hurricane Katrina benefit organised by Issac Hayes where he met future Rival Sons bassist Robin Everhart. Along with frontman Thomas Flowers, Miley, Everheart and Holiday formed a band called The Black Summer Crush. The group signed to EMI but nothing happened.

Eventually, Holiday found Jay Buchanan on the Internet, and Rival Sons was formed. [1] [2]
