Michael Monks (actor)
Michael Monks is an American character actor and director, best known for his recurring role as George Vogelman on The Practice and Delbert Grady in Doctor Sleep, along with his many other appearances in several major films like Air Force One and television series like Friends.[1]
Career[edit]
His best known television role is as George Vogelman on The Practice from 1997 until 1999.[2][3][4] Around this time, he also appeared in two small but memorable roles - as the Assistant White House Press Secretary giving a briefing in the Harrison Ford blockbuster Air Force One (1997)[1] and as Dr. Miller in Friends in the episode "The One with Joey's Big Break" (1999).[5]
He has made appearances in shows such as Dallas, Herman's Head, Blossom, 7th Heaven, NYPD Blue, Without a Trace, Malcom in the Middle, Bones, Major Crimes, Nip/Tuck, The Young and the Restless, State of Affairs, The Mentalist, NCIS and Carnivale.[6][7]
He has also appeared in many major movies such as Out on a Limb (1992), Snapdragon (1993), Clean Slate (1994), Little Giants (1994), Hard Rain (1998), Garfield: The Movie (2004), Harsh Times (2006), Puff, Puff, Pass (2006), Street Kings (2008), End of Watch (2012), and more.[6][1]
Recent movie roles include Bound (2015), Last Rampage (2017), and playing Delbert Grady in Stephen King's Doctor Sleep (2019) directed by Mike Flanagan.[1]
As a director, he has worked on short films such as Domestic Partners and All Things Being Equal.[8][1]
