Michael Seres was a patient advocate, entrepreneur and businessman. Living in Radlett, Hertfordshire, he was the founder and CEO of 11 Health and Technologies.

Personal Life

Michael was born in North London and grew up in Hendon and Finchley. As a child, he and his family were actively involved in the community at Kinloss Synagogue, where his parents still reside. He attended University College Schools before leaving due to ill health. At the age of 13, he was diagnosed with severe Crohn's Disease, something with which he would suffer for the rest of his life. Due to numerous operations, Michael finished his A Levels at college before starting a degree at King's College, London.

Michael met his wife, Justine, at age 16, and they were married in December 1991. He has three children, Aaron, Nathan and Lauren.

In 2011, Michael was the eleventh patient at Oxford's Churchill Hospital to undergo a bowel transplant.

Michael passed away, aged 51, on 30 May 2020.

11 Health and Technologies

After undergoing his rare bowel transplant, Michael started his company; 11 Health and Technologies. Centered around the patient, the company develops ostomy bag technologies to help patients better monitor and live with an ileostomy. After navigating through the NHS, 11 Health quickly outgrew their office and reach in the U.K. They sought investment in California and moved their headquarters to Orange County, California. Investments from major companies led to the rapid growth of the company, which is still operational and based out of the Orange County area.
