Michael William Pitt was the first principal[1] of Mirzapur Cadet College, one of the twelve cadet colleges of Bangladesh. His tenure was from May 1, 1964, to March 31, 1967. He was appointed by the then president of Pakistan Field Marshal Ayub Khan. MCC was the third cadet college in Bangladesh at the time of its establishment. Along with other cadet colleges, this institution is governed by military regulations and traditions. Pitt's military background led to his appointment.
