Michel Boucquillon is a Belgian architect and designer based in Brussels, Belgium and Lucca, Italy.[1][2][3][4]
Career[edit]
Graduated in 1986 at the Faculty of Architecture of Saint-Luc in Brussels, he moved to Florence where he collaborated for two years with the architect Paolo Riani, student of Kenzo Tange.[5] In 1988, he won the first prize of the Architecture competition Prix van Hove, for the project of the TGV station of Brussels.[6][7] In 1988, he won the Architecture competition for the Paul Henri Spaak building, the current hemicycle of the European Parliament in Brussels.[8] In 1994, he opened his multidisciplinary laboratory, M.A.D.E.U.S. in Brussels.[9][10] Later, in 2015 Michel won the Architectural award Expo Stone Award 2015.[11]
In 2000, he has opened a second office in Lucca in Tuscany, dedicated mainly to industrial design. Michel has collaborated with leading international design companies such as Alessi, Artemide, Antoniolupi, Aquamass, Martinelliluce, Nestlé, Salvatore Ferragamo and Serralunga.[12][13]
Personal life[edit]
He is married with Donia Maaoui, a Tunisian architect, sculptors and painter. They collaborated on several architectural and industrial design projects.[14][15][16][17][18][19]
