Michelle Lesniak (born July 14, 1978)[1] is a Portland based fashion designer, best known as the winner of the eleventh season of Project Runway,[2] and the seventh season of Project Runway: All Stars.[3]
Life and career[edit]
Lesniak was born in Portland, to a family of quilters, seamstresses, and interior decorators. She attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she studied the art of printmaking. After ten years of working in the wine industry, she decided to return to fashion design.[4]
Lesniak landed a spot on the eleventh season of Project Runway and won. After Project Runway, she appeared on the fourth season of Project Runway All Stars, placing 4th. She went on to compete on the seventh season of Project Runway All Stars, winning the season and gaining the title of Project Runway World Champion.
