Michiana Health Information Network (MHIN) is a health information exchange and health information technology company that has been serving medical providers and institutions throughout the Midwest since 1998. As one of the longest standing health information exchanges in the country, MHIN’s core applications provide an efficient and secure way for providers to exchange information and facilitate high-quality, coordinated care.


Background

1998 – Michiana Health Information Network (MHIN) was incorporated.

1999 – Implemented access that allowed clinical professionals and providers to view their patients’ results online.

2002 – MHIN’s first electronic health record (EHR) implemented.

2005 – Launched an electronic inbox connecting providers and professionals with the results they need in real time.

2007 – Interoperability services launched for physician electronic health records and healthcare institutions.

2010 – Connected over 3,200 healthcare professionals.

2011 – Earned EHNAC accreditation.

2012 - Joined the Direct Project as a health information service provider (HISP).
