Microsoft Office 2021 is an upcoming version of the Microsoft Office productivity suite for Windows and Mac, succeeding Office 2019. The first preview version was released in February 2021. Office 2021 was released for commercial and volume licensing customers on September 16, 2021, and will be released on mainstream on October 5, 2021, the same day Windows 11 launches.[1]

Many features that had previously only been available to Microsoft 365 subscribers have been published in this release.[2]

Office 2021 features an updated user interface design in line with that of Microsoft 365 releases, which in turn falls into Microsoft's Fluent Design design language.[3]
