Mid Bay News is a local digital media outlet which serves the people of Niceville, Valparaiso, Bluewater Bay and Eglin Air Force Base in the Florida Panhandle. The site was created in January of 2022, after the closure of The Bay Beacon[1], a local print newspaper which had been in operation for almost 30 years.
Mid Bay News covers the news, sports and provides informaiton about its coverage area to the community. Primary topics for the outlet include local government meetings, Niceville High School Sports, People of interest in the community, elections, and state government.

The digital media outlet was founded by Christopher Saul, a former television reporter for WEAR-TV and KOSA-TV news in January of 2022.
