Background[edit]

Middle Ear Studio Inc. was a Recording studio founded by the Pop music group Bee Gees in 1980, located in Miami Beach, Florida.[1]

Notable works[edit]

The Bee Gees recorded many of their own songs here, notably The Woman in You, On Time and Islands in the Stream sung by Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton.

Other notable artists to have recorded here were: Diana Ross with her album Eaten Alive, Celine Dion's Immortality & her album Let's Talk About Love. Cliff Richard, Michael Bublé and Toni Braxton also recorded here. [2]

Barbra Streisand's award-winning Guilty was the first album recorded at the studio.[3] whilst Barbra's Guilty Pleasures album was the last before it's closure in 2005.[4]

John Merchant - co-producer with the Bee Gees[5], began his career with an internship at the studio.[6]

Closure[edit]

Two years after the death of Bee Gees' Maurice Gibb in 2003[7], the studio closed and property sold.[2]
