Mihir Bhatta.[1][2] (M.Sc., PhD, FCRSD, FSASS..[3]) is a scientific worker[4] in the field of viral research, public health and epidemiology specially in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and viral hepatitis research.[5] He along with his co-workers published numerous research articles in national[6] and international journals[7][8] and books.[9][10]
Early life[edit]
Mihir was born on August, 1986 in Bethuadahri, Nadia district of West Bengal. Dr. Bhatta's ancestor's house was in Jalpaiguri district. At the age of four He was shifted to Baranagar, a small town aside Kolkata (then Calcutta). He was the only son of his parents along with his sister. His father Manik Chandra Bhatta was an employee of department of Home affairs and mother Purnima was a homemaker. Dr. Bhatta completed his schooling from Baranagar Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama High School[11]
He is an alumnus of Presidency College, Rajabazar Science College, Maulana Azad College and Calcutta University.[11]
He has completed his Ph.D. from University of Kalyani. His research work was based on GIS techniques, animal science and Environment.[12] Title of his thesis was "Studies on some physio biochemical profiles of black Bengal goat Capra aegagrus hircus with generation of GIS database during high ambient temperature in Purulia and Nadia districts of West Bengal" under the supervision of Prof. Debasish Das & Prof. Probal Ranjan Ghaosh and it could be found in Shodhganga.[13]
Career[edit]
After completion of his Ph.D, he join ICMR- National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases and worked under National Aids Control Organization.
Dr Bhatta is a scientific worker[4] in the field of viral research, public health and epidemiology specially in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and viral hepatitis research. He along with his co-workers published numerous research articles[14] in several international journals[8][7][15][16]. At present Dr. Bhatta is busy in the work with several life-threatening contagious viruses. He is a reviewer board member for several scientific journals[17]
On the other hand, Dr. Bhatta is an author, song writer, singer and music composer. Songs sung by him or music by him is now on Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube etc.

Mihir Bhatta[23] is a trained classical singer of Hindustani music and belongs to Ustad Bhagawandas Setari gharana. He has written many hindi and bengali songs. Along with Dr. Santanu Banerjee (Lyricist) he compose and sung couple of bengali songs. In 2022, He released his composite and released a song Tum Na Aaye -Ghalib, first time in Hindi, based on shayeri by Mirza Ghalib
