Mike Molesevich is an American environmental contractor and politician. Currently, he is running for the United States House of Representatives for Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district.[1] He is a member of the Democratic Party.[2]

Early Life and Education

Mike Molesevich was born in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania[3] After graduating from Mount Carmel High School in 1973,[4] Molesevich went on to earn his B.S. in environmental science from Juniata College and his M.S. in energy policy and planning from Bucknell University.[5]

Business career

Molesevich has been an environmental consultant for over thirty years.[6] He owns Molesevich Environmental LLC, an environmental consulting and contracting business located in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania[7] His business provides Phase I environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater investigations and remediation, removal of petroleum ust’s, and release of environmental liability under PA Act 2.[8] Molesevich Environmental LLC also provides independent energy management and consulting.[9]

Politics

Mike Molesevich served as the mayor of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania from 1994–1998, and also served as a Borough Councilman for 8 years.[10] Mike is currently running for the US House of Representatives in Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district against incumbent Tom Marino.[11] He received 2,425 write-in votes in the Pennsylvania primary on April 26, which earned him a spot on the ballot in November.[12]

Political Positions

As a member of Lewisburg’s borough council, Molesevich voted for and against property tax increases[13][14] and worked to make Lewisburg more environmentally friendly.[15] The main positions for Mike Molesevich's 2016 campaign for US Congress are focused around economy & job growth, veterans, women & families, and the environment.[16] According to his website, he wants to lower taxes and raise the minimum wage.[17] Mike’s campaign writes that they hope to see more services to veterans including better healthcare and jobs.[18] In addition, Mike's campaign lists equal pay for women, paid family leave,[19] and more support for family farms and clean energy jobs[20] as issues for them as well.
