Michael B. Pollock (born March 9, 1965)[3] is an American actor, singer, voice artist, and comedian, best known as the current voice of Doctor Eggman in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He voices many characters in English dubs of Japanese anime as well as cartoons dubbed by 4Kids Entertainment, NYAV Post, DuArt Film and Video, and Studiopolis. Outside of Sonic, he served as the narrator the Pokémon anime series, having voiced in multiple seasons in the franchise. Other major roles include Meat in Ultimate Muscle, Langston Lickatoad in Viva Piñata, Adon in Berserk, Mitsuru Minowa in Magic User's Club, and Beast in the motion comic adaptation of Astonishing X-Men.

Career[edit]

Pollock voices several characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, most notably Doctor Eggman, Professor Gerald Robotnik, and Eggman Nega, first appearing as Eggman in the English language release of the 2003 anime series Sonic X.[1][4] In 2005, beginning with Shadow the Hedgehog, he began voicing his characters for the Sonic video game series as well, replacing Deem Bristow as the voice of Eggman following his death.[4]

On July 15, 2010, Sega announced it was recasting the voice actors for the Sonic the Hedgehog characters, but that Pollock would be the only one retained from the previous cast. [4][5] Pollock currently also voices Dr. Eggman on the animated series Sonic Boom, which premiered in November 2014.[6]
