Michael Jude Rose, often nicknamed Mike Rose, is an English Video game publisher best known as the founder of No More Robots, a Video game publisher. Mike attended the University of Manchester, but shortly after graduating with a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics, he went to work with Indiegames.com, a website designed for reviewing indie games, where he spent three years working as Editor-in-chief until 2011, when he became an editor for Gamasutra[1], a sister website to Indiegames.com.
Career
Mike attended the University of Manchester from 2005 until 2008, where he graduated with a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics joint honours. He often wrote for a variety of gaming sites, including Gamasutra[1], Pocket Gamer[2], Kotaku[3] and Indiegames.com.[4] One year after graduating, he started writing for Indiegames.com for three years, where he posted indie gaming news and reviews whilst attending and writing up shows, conferences and lectures around indie-related features. He wrote as a Freelancer until February 2011, when he became an Editor for Gamasutra[1], a sister website of Indiegames.com. During the same time (2010–2014) he was also writing for Pocket Gamer[2] in various different positions. Originally an editorial assistant, then a Freelancer, then a handheld editor from February to December 2011, and now freelance. In December 2014, he was hired as a Public relations manager[5] for TinyBuild[5] where he looked for new third-party games to publish across PC, mobile and console platforms, until May 2016 when he joined Ripstone Games[6] as a Public Relations Manager and developer[6] where he looked for new third-party games to publish across PC and console platforms. Until recently, in May 2017, he founded the video game publisher No More Robots, with Simon Carless, where he now publishes games under his own label. He frequently gives talks to fellow game developers at the Game Developers Conference[7], where he holds talks for game developers on how they can increase sales of their games[7]
