Milton Town Council
The Milton Town Council is the governing body of Milton, Ontario, Canada.
The council consists of the mayor plus eight elected councillors, two per ward, representing the town as a whole.
Within each ward, the local Town Councillor represents the ward solely in Milton Town Council. The Town and Regional Councillor is a member of the governing council of the Regional Municipality of Halton, in addition to being a member of the Town Council.
History
In 2016, Milton Town Council voted in favour of reducing size from 11 members to nine, effective the 2018-2022 term. Previously, Milton had eight wards with one local town councillor per ward, two regional and town councillors who represented four wards each, and a mayor. The last time Milton Town Council had nine members was 1930.[1]
Prior to 2010, Milton Town Council consisted of four wards with two local town councillors per ward, one mayor, and two local and regional councillors representing two wards each.[2]

Town councillor candidate for the new Ward 1, and sitting councillor in the former Ward 2, Mike Boughton died July 30, 2018, after first being elected in 2003.[5][6][7]

Town and Regional Councillor Tony Lambert was arrested on October 7, 2013, in the Town Hall for violating bail conditions.[15]
