Mimi Kalinda, originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda and raised in South Africa, is the Group CEO and co-founder of Africa Communications Media Group,[1][2] (ACG),[3] a Pan-African public relations and communications agency[4] based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Career
Kalinda received her bachelors degree from the New York University. Served as the Director of Global Communications for Innovations for Poverty Action headquartered in Washington, DC.[5] Kalinda is also the former director of communications[6][7] for the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), pan-African network of postgraduate schools teaching mathematical sciences.
Previously, as FleishmanHillard (FH)’s Africa Lead, and Weber Shandwick, where she led pan-African business development efforts and managed social impact accounts.[8][9]
She also hosted a show called "Talking To Africa" on Africa Business Report.[10][11]
Kalinda is an adjunct professor at IE University in Madrid[12]
Books
Mimi Kalinda is an author of an e-book titled,[13] Talking to Africa: Considering Culture in Communications for a Complex Continent. The book reviews how understanding the cultural dynamics of four major African markets (Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia and South Africa) can lead to the development and more successful implementation of communications strategies that are results-driven.[14]
Mimi’s most recent book is Echoes of Influence: Harnessing the Power of Storytelling as a Leadership Strategy.
Honours
She was named Forbes Afrique’s 40 under 40 in 2018.[15][16]
