Mimi Anne Kwa (born 23 May 1974) is an Australian journalist and creative nonfiction author[1][2]

Early Life

Mimi Kwa grew up in Perth, Western Australia[2]. She received a scholarship to attend St Mary's Anglican Girls School[3].

Career

Kwa works as a freelance writer[4] and television presenter and is known for her roles (1999–2019) as reporter for Network Nine's National Nine News and A Current Affair and international news anchor for the ABC's Australia Network and national news reader on ABC's The World, Insiders and Virgin Inflight news[5][6]. Kwa is also a podcaster[7], actor[8] and keynote speaker[9]. She features as a newsreader in international television series - Preacher and Wentworth[10] and plays a minor part in the ABC TV mini series - The Newsreader. Kwa began her television career as a cadet journalist in 1999 with ABC News.

Kwa hosted corporate television for the National Australia Bank (2005–2010). Kwa features in marketing campaigns for organisations including BMW[11], SpecSavers[12], Coles, Victoria Police[13], Samsung, Simonds Homes, Brand Power, Medifacts, Fairfax Media, Sydney Morning Herald[14], Herald Sun, Cambridge Hot Maths, Betty Basics and Activated Nutrients. Kwa has presented for Victorian Parliament, Victorian Building Association[15], and Monash University. Her home is featured in Home Beautiful Magazine[16]
