Mina Lakani (born 1969[1] in Tehran) is an Iranian theatre and cinema actress.
Biography
Lakani made her theatrical debut in Hamlet (Qutbuddin Sadeghi). She started her career in cinema by appearing in the film "Remember the Flight" (Hamid Rakhshani). She won the Crystal Simorgh Award and an honorary diploma for Best Actress in the 13th Fajr Film Festival in 1373 for her role in the film Didar, made by Mohammad Reza Honarmand.
Immigration to America
In October 2011, Mina Lakani appeared on VOA's Shabahang live program without a hijab, and in an interview with the host, she announced that she had left her homeland due to harassing working conditions and in support of the people's protest movement against the ruling political current in Iran. She immigrated to the United States.[2]
