Minamata (film)
Minamata is an upcoming American drama film directed by Andrew Levitas and written by David K. Kessler. It is based on the book of same name by W. Eugene Smith and Aileen Mioko Smith. The film stars Johnny Depp.

On October 23, 2018, it was announced that Johnny Depp was cast in the film, Minamata, wot play the photographer W. Eugene Smith, which Andrew Levitas would direct from a screenplay by David K. Kessler, who adapted it from a book of same name by Smith himself and Aileen Mioko Smith. Depp's Infinitum Nihil developed the film, and would be produced by Sam Sarkar, Bill Johnson, and Levitas, and it would start filming in Japan and then in Serbia in January 2019.[1]
